Domestic Applications
Externally, treated timber resists decay and provides a long, economical and serviceable life. Internally, American Softwoods are ideal for panelling, built-in fixtures, furniture and finishings.

External
American Softwoods may be used for a diverse range of external domestic applications, including:
- Carcassing, ie the structural skeleton of the house
- Decking
- Porches, patios
- Boundary and retaining walls
- Decorative trellises and utility screens
- Gazebos, conservatories, garden sheds, tree dens and doghouses
- Ornamental furniture like benches, sundials and planters

Internal
Finished naturally, stained or painted, American Softwoods lend themselves well to enhancing the interior of both traditional and modern homes. Southern Pine in particular has found favour with designers of today and can be used for:
- Panelling
- Flooring
- Staircases
- Window frames and doors
- Bed frames
- Kitchens
- Mouldings
- Furniture, including wardrobes, desks and cabinets
