The diverse and wide-ranging applications of American Softwoods fall into three main categories:

In industrial and commercial applications American Softwoods can be used for both building and non-building uses.
In structural applications American Softwoods are ideal for light railway tracks, and complex constructions like roller coasters and other fairground attractions with tight turns and steep slopes.
In domestic applications the aesthetic appeal and inherent qualities of American Softwoods are perfect for internal as well as external use on domestic dwellings.

American Softwood species comply with BS 5268 Pt 2: 1996 and EN 1912 "Structural Timber - Strength Classes."
