More events on timber decking are being planned by American Softwoods after the success of a series of seminars aimed at broadening and deepening knowledge about timber species, decking design and the use of treated timber outdoors.
The latest events – in High Wycombe, Loughborough, Basildon and Dublin – attracted industry professionals including decking installers, timber merchants, builders and landscape designers.
Held in co-operation with the Timber Decking Association, the seminars were organised against a background of continuing growth in the popularity of timber decking.
European Marketing Director of American Softwoods Eddie Pearce said: “Discussions with the delegates at the seminars show that the popularity of treated Southern Pine for use in outdoor applications such as decking is continuing to grow.
“The positive response to these events means that we will continue the seminar programme, working with the Timber Decking Association to promote excellence within the industry.”
Other speakers at the seminar were Colin Young, Managing Director, Deckor Timber and deck maintenance expert Thomas Rathbone.
Locations for the next series of seminars will be announced later this year.
