With the popularity of timber decking continuing to grow, American Softwoods will be flying the flag for Southern Pine at Gardeners’ World Live at the NEC Birmingham from Wednesday June 13 to Sunday June 17.
American Softwoods will be in Hall 19, Stand Number G520 on a showcase deck supplied by Deckor Timber of Harrogate.
Eddie Pearce, European marketing director for American Softwoods, said: “The event is one of the leading gardening showcases of the year and a great opportunity to demonstrate the benefits of using Southern Pine for garden decking.
“Independent tests by TRADA Technology, the internationally-recognised timber research authority, have proved conclusively that Southern Pine is king of the softwoods – superior to certain species from other countries.
“Its exceptional strength and extreme ease of treatment combine to make it the perfect outdoor timber, whatever the weather.”
For over a decade, American Softwoods has been a leader in the promotion of decking in the UK. As far back as 1994 American Softwoods sponsored a TV programme in which the installation of a timber deck was part of a house makeover.
Southern Pine is harvested from sustainable forests in the USA, where four to five million trees are planted every day.
